Prison Ministry
Prison ministry is the newest addition to the story of The Doorkeeper. It has proven to be a true blessing and a second chance to so many of our brothers who simply made wrong decisions in their lives. This part of our ministry began in a single prison in September 2017 in central Texas and has spread like wildfire, increasing God’s army as its message grows. One by one, men are discovering how to become better inmates, fathers, husbands and Christians. The Doorkeeper has freed them from being victims of their circumstances and given them tools to move on from poor decisions of the past. They come to realize that they cannot blame others for their wrong doings and are taking full responsibility for the choices they have made. Chapter by chapter, lives are being transformed and men are realizing their full potential, seeing life through God’s eyes and with His heart for the very first time.
The Doorkeeper Ministry is helping our brothers learn that while they are to hold themselves accountable for past decisions, there is new life to be found in Jesus Christ. Men in this setting are gaining purpose, self-confidence and uncovering the truth that they can become true spiritual leaders and role models in their current surroundings, communities and homes upon their release. Guards and wardens are seeing dramatic life changes in the men participating in this ministry and exposing it to other prisons systems having witnessed its impact and effectiveness.
We are excited to see where this ministry will lead and the number of lives it can change within and outside the walls of our prison systems. Countless husbands and fathers are turning their lives around and bringing an end to generations of sinful behavior, breathing new life in broken families by embracing the message of The Doorkeeper. A reborn father can give tremendous emotional and spiritual hope to his children, enabling them to become future Christian leaders in their homes. The Doorkeeper Ministry is blessed to be a part of this chapter in the lives of these men and we want to continue to provide this life changing opportunity to broken men in prisons across the country and the world.
